The recent announcement from the Lake County Health Department regarding the 'substantial' transmission of COVID-19 in our communities is disheartening news. While we do not know what the months ahead will bring, we want to assure you that Lake Forest Open Lands is committed to providing safe and healthy environments for you, your family, and our community.

Safety First

We understand how important nature and access to the outdoors are to everyone's mental, physical, and emotional well-being, especially as we head into the cold-weather season. We are proud that our trails and preserves remain open to all during this time.

Lake Forest Open Lands continues to follow State, County, and City guidelines* carefully and our staff members follow strict, consistent sanitation and safety protocols to ensure you and your family are in the safest environments while on our preserves or participating in our programs.

As we head into the colder weather, we are offering more program and event opportunities to keep you and your family active and healthy throughout the winter months. We offer outdoor Storytime Adventures for little ones, Guided Hikes through our preserves for adults and families, groomed cross country trails when there is snow, and monthly Conservation Cocktails for those who want to learn more about nature from the comfort of their homes. So bundle up and enjoy the great outdoors throughout the fall and winter at any or all of our six preserves!
