Boat building is a fun and powerful way to build confidence. Through hands-on learning, our seasoned boat building instructors guide us through the entire process of building a 15 ft. skin-on-frame canoe ending up with a boat that floats. This unique experience will transform your perspective about your own abilities.
Throughout the build, participants experience the age-old craft of steam bending wood to create curves, and learn how heat and water can persuade wood to take on different shapes. We apply science and mathematical concepts through the use of hand tools such as block planes, spokes and combination squares.
